 | Wasps: A wasp is a predatory flying stinging insect of the order Hymenoptera and suborder Apocrita that is neither a bee nor an ant. Wasps are a valuable insect for agricultural purposes, pollination and as a predation species for other pests. Unfortunately, they also can become quite territorial and sting people if they feel threatened. To rid them from your area, call BC BUG and we'll go to work.

 | Mice: A mouse (plural mice) is a small mammal belonging to the order of rodents. The best known mouse species is the common house mouse (Mus musculus). Unfortunately, the common mouse loves the warmth of your home and any scraps of food that they can find. Diseases are known to be spread by them. Call BC Bugs for a free quote to rid you of your rodent problems.
 | Rats: Rats are various medium-sized, long-tailed rodents of the superfamily Muroidea, and can carry many diseases known to man. You can tell if you have rats easily by their droppings: dark black rice shaped droppings that are about 4 times the size of a rice kernel. The most important thing with rats is to avoid contact with them and to destroy any food or other items that they could come in contact with. Call BC BUGS to arrange a environmentally sensitive trapping program and to help prevent them from coming back.
 | Cockroaches: Cockroaches are insects of the order Blattaria. This name derives from the Latin word for "cockroach", Barata. There are about 4,000 species of cockroach, of which 30 species are associated with human habitations and about four species are well known as pests. The most common in British Columbia is the "German Cokckroach". BC BUG has a comprehensive program to rid cockroaches for the long-term for residences and commercial properties.
 | Pigeons: The pigeon is the only real urban bird pest. They exist in many numbers across the lower mainland and are troublesome to rid of become they become "fixed" to specific locations. Pigeons can roost and nest easily in man made structures just about anywhere around a home and have become very domesticated and not afraid of people. The uric acid in their feces is highly corrosive and can destroy structures quickly. BC BUG can eliminate existing pigeons and nests and put in place effective pigeon deterrents to prevent them from coming back. We include trapping, one way exits for attic areas, netting and spikes to prevent re-occurring.

| Ants: Most ants in Vancouver are either pavement ants or carpenter ants. They size from a few millimetres (pavement ants) to about 3/8" to 1" (carpenter ants). They do many good things in the environment but once many colonies stabilize in one area they can create a huge mess and wood boring carpenter ants can cause serious damage in wood structures when an infestation occur. All ants are social insects that work in unison, hence while you see many of them in one colony. They also share most of their food so BC BUG can eradicate your ant problem quickly with the use of environmentally neutral baits.
 | Flies: There are 2 prominent types of flies: Blow fly and the Cluster Fly. Both of these flies usually occur in quantities in your home because of a source either in the home or close by like a dead rodent. BC BUG can find the source and eliminate your fly problem with fly traps.
 | Fleas: Fleas are parasites, feeding directly on man or other warm blooded animals. Usually you or your pet serves as these "hosts". A flea can jump 7-8 inches vertically and 14-16 inches horizontally. A skin reaction to a flea bite would be a slightly raised, red, itching spot. Sometimes bleeding does occur. Fleas usually require warm and humid conditions to develop. Due to the flea cycle and weather conditions many people don't realize they have a flea problem until they return home from vacation or a move to new premises and are confronted by "hungry fleas". There are several types of fleas but the most common is the cat flea. Fleas are attracted to body heat, movement, and carbon dioxide exhaled.

 | Wildlife Control: Our urban wildlife grow in numbers as our own populations grow because of more food availability and more housing for them. This also heightens our interactions and the risk of exposure to wildlife and the health risks associated with them.. BC BUG can trap and re-locate these animals in the most environmentally and sustained manner possible. Animals we have experience with are: raccoons skunks, and squirrels |
